Frequently Asked Questions

All your questions about the Tinx Integration Agent answered

What is the Tinx Integration Agent and how is it different from your existing connectors?

The Integration Agent is a universal connector built inside Business Central that can connect to virtually any external system via API. Unlike the named connectors (Shopify, Amazon, Magento, WooCommerce, etc.) which are pre-built and plug-and-play, the Integration Agent is a flexible framework for systems that don’t have a dedicated Tinx connector yet.

Do I still need a specific connector if Tinx already has one for my platform?

If you’re using Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Shopware, Amazon, ChannelEngine, or BigCommerce, you’ll get more value from the dedicated connector. The Integration Agent is best suited for other systems, custom platforms, or niche tools.

Which systems can the Integration Agent connect to?

Any system that exposes a REST or GraphQL API. This includes CRMs, WMS platforms, marketplaces, logistics providers, payment systems, and custom-built software.

How is Tinx different from general automation tools like Zapier or n8n?

Zapier and n8n are generic workflow tools. Tinx lives inside Business Central and is built specifically for ERP integration logic, handling things like inventory sync, order management, and financial data in a way that generic tools aren’t designed for. There’s no middleware layer to manage, and Tinx brings deep BC expertise that a no-code automation platform can’t replicate.

Where does the Integration Agent run, in the cloud or on-premise?

It runs natively inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, so it follows your BC environment (cloud or on-premise). On Premise versions starting from version 25 are supported.

Does Tinx Integration Agent require custom development or can we configure it ourselves?

The Integration Agent is configured rather than coded, you can do the inital setup yourself, it can also handled by Tinx or a certified partner to ensure the integration is stable and correct.

What data can be synced with the Integration Agent? Is it bidirectional?

The Tinx Integration Agent supports both inbound and outbound data flows. Common syncs include orders, inventory, customers, invoices, and shipment statuses, but this is fully configurable.

How long does it take to go live with the Tinx Integration Agent?

This depends on the complexity of the external system and the data flows involved. A straightforward integration typically takes 4–8 weeks from kick-off to go-live.
